On your phone? Manage your finances while you’re at it.

There’s already so much you can do on your phone – like organizing virtual trivia matches with your work friends, controlling the temperature in your home while you’re away, or taking virtual lessons to learn how to play an instrument with a funny-sounding name like the flugelhorn.

So managing your finances on your phone seems like a logical next step, right? It’s an easy and efficient way to stay on top of your accounts. You can check your credit card balance, pay a bill, then get back to doing the things you enjoy (and if it’s watching videos of cats bossing their owners around, there’s no shame in that).

These are our top three reasons for keeping your finances at your fingertips.

On-the-go tracking.

One of the most important aspects of budgeting is tracking your expenses to help avoid overspending. By keeping a digital log of your transactions, you’ll be able to document new ones shortly after they occur – while you’re on the go. And, if you have a Capital One Mastercard®, our online banking app gives you an enhanced view of your credit card transactions. This includes the location your transactions were made, plus, in most cases, contact and website details (in case you need to get in touch with a merchant about a specific transaction).

Easy troubleshooting.

Question about your account? With Capital One online banking, you can resolve many account issues right from your phone. For example, if you realize your PIN is locked during a purchase, you can sign in to online banking to unlock it on the spot and change your PIN.

Digital wallet.

When you load your credit card to the digital wallet on your AndroidTM device (an app that securely stores your credit cards) you can conveniently pay for things by tapping your phone instead of your physical card. Have an Android device? Our credit cards are compatible, so you don’t always have to carry your Capital One Mastercard around when you shop.

Do more with our mobile banking app.

If you have a Capital One credit card, our mobile app allows you to manage your account your way.

* If Quick Check pre-approves a card, you can be sure we’ll approve your application, except in limited circumstances. Some of the reasons we may not approve your application, among others, include:

a. There’s been a change in your credit file information, personal information or financial status from the time you receive your Quick Check results to the time you apply for one of our credit cards.

b. You’re not at least the age of majority in the province or territory you live in.

c. Your application is flagged for fraud prevention.

d. You have an existing Capital One account.

e. You’ve applied for a Capital One account in the last 30 days or had an account with us that was not in good standing in the last year. In good standing means not past due, over limit, fraudulent, restricted, or part of a consumer credit counselling program or bankruptcy.

In some cases, we may not be able to open an account for you even though your application was approved. This can happen if we’re unable to verify your identity, or you don’t provide the required security funds if you’re approved for a Secured Mastercard®.
