New year, same you. And that’s cool.

It’s that time of year, when it seems like everyone is on some sort of journey toward self-improvement. But that may not be your thing.

Are there clothes currently hanging on your elliptical? Don’t worry about it. Haven’t gotten around to tossing your socks with holes yet? They’re not going anywhere.

Trust the (credit) journey.

Instead, take a moment to reflect on your credit journey. Whether you've experienced challenges or small milestones, your journey is still a meaningful one, and it may offer a few nuggets of wisdom that can serve you well this year.

If you’re thinking about establishing or building your credit, or you’re interested in earning rewards, we have a solution that might help you explore your options.

Apply with confidence.

With Quick Check, our credit card eligibility checker, we’ll tell you which of our credit cards you’ll be approved for. This is handy because applying for credit can impact your credit score, so it only makes sense that you should be confident that you'll be approved before you submit your application.

When you’re ready to take your credit journey in a new direction with a Capital One credit card, give Quick Check a try before you apply. In the meantime, forget colour blocking your wardrobe for a little while, and take it easy. You deserve it!

* If Quick Check pre-approves a card, you can be sure we’ll approve your application, except in limited circumstances. Some of the reasons we may not approve your application, among others, include:

a. There’s been a change in your credit file information, personal information or financial status from the time you receive your Quick Check results to the time you apply for one of our credit cards.

b. You’re not at least the age of majority in the province or territory you live in.

c. Your application is flagged for fraud prevention.

d. You have an existing Capital One account.

e. You’ve applied for a Capital One account in the last 30 days or had an account with us that was not in good standing in the last year. In good standing means not past due, over limit, fraudulent, restricted, or part of a consumer credit counselling program or bankruptcy.

In some cases, we may not be able to open an account for you even though your application was approved. This can happen if we’re unable to verify your identity, or you don’t provide the required security funds if you’re approved for a Secured Mastercard®.
